Communal Areas refurbishment

We were instructed to repaint the lobby and communal areas, of a prestigious office block.  This include walls ceilings, lifts and to re-screed all floors of this ten storey building.

As it had been a while since these areas had been decorated, we started by preparing the walls and ceilings by filling cracks and damaged areas as well as sanding flat and re-caulking edges.  Damage to the lift doors and surrounds required us to strip back to the metal and the floors needed to be prepared read for the screed.  As the building is occupied during the day and are high traffic communal area, we were required to work outside of core hours.  Using a team of 6 working nights and weekends, we emulsioned all the walls and ceilings using 2 coats of hard wearing paint, we then applied a layer of self leveling latex screed to all the floors.  Once the screed had set, we painted the lift doors and surrounds using Rustoleum Combi Colour and all woodwork using Diamond Satin finish trim paint.  Finally all the new floors were painted with 2 coats of non-slip floor paint.
